Sunset Cruises

MAC-ATAC Sportfishing has offered Evening and Sunset Cruises for many years.
This has mostly been taken advantage of by regular Fishing Charter Customers who wanted to take non-fishing family members or Visitors on Scenic Cruises.

Depending on the weather conditions, we may cruise New Bedford Harbor and see the World’s Largest Fishing Fleet on both the New Bedford and Fairhaven Sides.
We often cruise over to Beautiful Padanaram (South Dartmouth) and onto Nonquitt, Round Hill, Salter’s Point, and Mishaum Point. No matter what the weather allows us to do, it is always enjoyable with the potential of viewing a Beautiful Sunset!

Sightseeing boat tours and cruises from Fairhaven, MA, and other points along the local coastline offer a close-up view of the rich maritime, seafaring, and ship-building history. Views nature in all of nature’s stunning Glory. From May through late August, it is highly likely to see the Majestic Osprey, with 7-8’ wingspan, circling over the large schools of Menhaden (a.k.a. Pogies, Bunker). Menhaden are one of the most important forage fish on the east coast. Watch the Osprey dive from over 200’ in the sky into the Menhaden school to catch dinner for their young back at the nest. There are dozens of Osprey nests to view. It is also very common to see fish feeding, with small birds diving and feeding and even an occasional seal.

New England sunsets are a chance to relax. End your day with a breathtaking experience on the water, as you watch the sun slip into the ocean. Take advantage of these long warm evenings and join us! Watch the sun set on another lazy hazy summer day as the twilight rolls in and we return to the dock. Leave the hustle and bustle behind to join us out on Buzzards Bay where the bright sky meets the cool blue water.

If desired, be sure to bring beverages (adult or otherwise)and food to enjoy on the trip.
